Get out of the urban bustle and re-establish your place in the elements.

Forgiveness is a decision of letting go of the past and focusing on the present.

The day for all the leaders of Chingay Parade Singapore 2011 coming together to check out the venue is finally here. The F1 Pit Building will be the venue for the parade and this is a very familiar place to me since a lot of events are held here. My group is always as enthusiastic as ever and we did our planning quickly before going on to take photos. We took a couple of jump shots and the photos turned out great.

Lunch was at MOF. The food that I had was not value for money, but the time spent with my friends was definitely worth it.

Fashion is not a luxury. It is a way to show individuality and personality.

Faith is the affirmation and the act that bids eternal truth be present fact. – Coleridge

Everyone around us does play an important role in teaching us something about life. We should be thankful for that even if what they taught us is somewhat hurting.

Since it is my second off day, I have decided to pack my room and go for a run later.

This is my first off day after my night shift. It is time for me to catch up on my lost sleep.

This is my second shift and also my first night shift. I am trying to get used to staying up throughout the night but it takes a lot of effort.

I am experiencing my first morning shift and everything is going on quite smoothly at the moment. I hope things stay the way it is.

My sister treated me to Udders Ice Cream to celebrate my birthday. That is very sweet of her.

At the break of dawn on my birthday, I am seen travelling to the division headquarters to settle the remaining administrative work. The good thing was that everything was settled before lunch time. However, I got a call telling me that I am involved in the deployment for Thaipusam that very night till the next morning. This was totally unexpected, but I just had to accept the fact and go for the deployment.

On a happier note, I received 10 messages throughout the day with birthday wishes. Facebook wise, I received 143 birthday wishes. I took the time to personally thank every single one of you who remembered my birthday and took the effort to wish me. Thank you so much and have a blessed day.

Early in the morning, my squad mates and I hurried to Home Team Academy for the very last time to wait for the respective divisions to fetch us. This is the time where we part after being squad mates for about four months. The division van came and brought us to the division headquarters where we did some administrative work before being allowed to go home.

With the final course ending today, it marks the end of our stay in camp. The friendship we forged is most valuable and nothing can replace it. It is time to move on to our respective divisions and serve the remainder of our National Service.

The final course my squad mates and I are going to go through together starts today and ends tomorrow. After this course, we will leave Home Team Academy and go into our respective divisions. Two days more and we can call it freedom from camp.

This is the first time I am attending New Creation Church service with Hannah. She has decided to visit this church and also brought a friend, Tricia, with her to attend the service. Queueing up just to get into the service is always a problem, but that does not deter us from wanting to attend the services here because we are all hungry for God’s word. We all had a great time during the service and learnt a lot from the sermon.

Having Udders Ice Cream with Vanessa is always a fun-filled session full of laughter.

So it rained again on my second run with Zeke. Although we did not get drenched like the first time, I got my second pair of running shoes wet. This means that I have only one more pair of running shoes to use while waiting for the first pair to dry.

The Daily Scoop Ice Cream Café is located at Sunset Way. Zeke brought me there to try the ice cream as he recommended it. The ice cream there was good but I still prefer Udders Ice Cream.

Ever had this kind of feeling?

"Why is everyone around me getting attached? How come all the girls like his ‘type’? It is not fair. What is wrong with me?"

"I will never leave you nor forsake you." – God

Even if I was having a bad day and someone came up to me, I would be respectful towards that person because that is simply a facet of my life.

Do not promise when you are in joy.
Do not reply when you are sad.
Do not take decisions when you are angry.

Think twice. Act wise.

This was the first time I ran with Zeke. Our route was the trail behind Home Team Academy which is about 5km according to him. Halfway while running, it started to rain and since we were in the middle of the trail and it will loop out eventually, we decided to continue running. Shortly after, we got lost and it took us some time to find our way back to the starting point. We ended up drenched from head to toe. Anyway, it was a good experience running on this trail for the first time but the rain spoilt our day.

It has been a long time since I last walked in the rain. Today was an exception.

Being told by someone that you are unfriendly and unhelpful is a bad way to start the day. Well, that was what one of the organising committee members told me at the Chingay Parade Singapore 2011 Leader’s Training. She must be kidding right? I mean, for me being unfriendly and unhelpful is just not right. Put that aside, the training was quite short and I managed to get to know the people that I am going to work with in my sector a little better. They are a bunch of fun people and I am definitely looking forward to working with them in the weeks to come.

Ken and Serene was helping at an event nearby my training venue so we decided to meet for lunch at Junction 8. They were nice enough to help me buy bubble tea from Koi Cafe while I was still at the training. Thank you so much. We had lunch at a Hong Kong Café and the food was not bad. The serving was reasonable too. After lunch, we walked around Junction 8 before I headed for cell group which was at Fu Wei and Mellissa’s house. Serene walked me to their house because it was my first time going there by train and she lived nearby the area anyway.

For cell group, only Boon Teck and Daryl came. Fu Wei got us to watch a movie entitled ‘Faith Like Potatoes’ and I think it is one of the most meaningful movies I ever watched in my life. After cell group, we walked to Nex for dinner. We decided on eating at Barcelos and although the price was a little on the high side, the food was great. At the basement of Nex, I found a bubble tea shop called Drink Tea and it was worth the queuing time. No time was wasted as I headed home after a long day.

Do not let someone become a priority in your life, when you are just an option in their life.

Relationships work best when they are balanced.

Difficult moments, seek God.
Happy moments, praise God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Every moment, thank God.

‘Diet’ does not work without the cross (t). Without it, you end up with ‘die’.

Aspire to inspire, before you expire.

Around here, however, we do not look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we are curious, and curiousity keeps leading us down new paths.
