The Lion King
The Lion King took the world by storm as a ground-breaking animated film in 1994. Magnificently envisioned by acclaimed director, Julie Taymor, in November 1997, the film has been transformed into a spectacular theatrical experience which has won over 70 major international theatre awards.
The Lion King is a powerful and moving story of Simba, an epic adventure of his journey from a wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands. This theatrical masterpiece is set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains, with its heart beating to the evocative rhythms of Africa.
The legendary musical has been seen by over 51 million people worldwide. This internationally acclaimed performance will set the stage ablaze and is soon to wow people in Singapore with its enchanting music, explosion of glorious colours, and stunning effects.

Shape Run Singapore 2011
Shape Run Singapore 2011 is Singapore's first women only running race. The challenge offered distance categories of 5km and 10km. A total of about 8,000 female runners, mostly clad in the blue Reebok Shape Run Singapore 2011 tee, participated in the event. The 8,000 strong turnout was split evenly between the 5km and 10km challenge.
This is the second year I am volunteering for this event. The turnout was definitely much more than last year's. Still, the volunteers are able to live up to the expectations of the participants and offer them assistance when required.

Marina 21K 2011
Marina 21K 2011 is a half marathon and 10km run set in the newly minted Bay East at Gardens by the Bay. It is an evening race and runners will get to set foot on footpaths that wind through Kallang River Basin, Marina Bay, and Tanjong Rhu. Never too far from the water, this race promises to open up your senses by drawing you into the captivating scenery of the Marina Bay skyline.
Volunteering for this event with a few of my friends got all of us really tired, but we got to enjoy the coolness of the night and the serenity of the place. We managed to drop by Marble Slab Creamery for a treat on the way home too.

Mission Foods World Netball Championships 2011 Singapore
Singapore has won the rights to host the Mission Foods World Netball Championships 2011. This prestigious competition will be organised by Netball Singapore. Singapore is currently the only Asian country to host the competition.
This is the first time my friends and I are volunteering for a netball event. We were not tasked to do much work by the organisers other than giving out some freebies to the spectators. Therefore, we had the luxury of watching the various countries go head to head in the competition.
