Life is like a rainbow. You need both the rain and the sun to make its colours appear.

It is the confident assurance that even when life seems unfair, God will always be fair.

It is not all about the money. Money can keep you warm. It can buy you a blanket and it can pay for your heating bills, but it does not keep you as warm as you hold me.

Ignorance is bliss and silence is golden.

If you look at what you do not have in life, you do not have anything. If you look at what you have in life, you have everything.

If you had the ability to lie to me, I would have failed being your friend.

If you give up when it is winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, and the fulfillment of your fall.

Do not let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Do not judge life by one difficult season.

Persevere through the difficult patches, and better times are sure to come in time.

“If I did not have any faith to doubt, I would not doubt my faith.”

Keep the faith even when doubt comes knocking on its door.

I ask God to bless you while praying for you today.
To guide you and protect you, as you go along your way.
God's love is always with you, and His promises are true.

When you give God all your cares, you know He will see you through.

The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil, the hand that posts this message shall not labour in vain, and the mouth saying amen to this prayer shall smile forever.

‘I’ is a very small word, when used often, will always keep your world small. – Pastor Brian Houston, Hillsong Church

I am the sun and you are the flower. I will provide the sunlight for you to blossom. Sometimes, the clouds will prevent me from reaching you, but you will know that I am always trying to reach you. Just wait for the clouds to clear if you cannot receive my sunlight.

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. – Jim Elliot

Happiness keeps you sweet,
Trials keep you strong.
Sorrows keep you human,
Failures keep you humble.
Success keeps you growing,
But only God keeps you going.

Google homepage artwork appears on special days and holidays. On one particular Valentine’s Day, the artistic logo showed an old couple. It depicts a man with a walking stick and a white-haired woman. They were shown walking hand in hand as the woman held two heart-shaped balloons. It was a beautiful reminder that while our culture glorifies youthful romance, true love has many stages during our journey through life.

When love is tried as loved ones change,
Hold still to hope though all seems strange,
Till ease returns and love grows wise,
Through listening ears and opened eyes.

Surf N Sweat 2011 was held at Sentosa’s Siloso Beach. Deborah and I took part in the Lovers' Challenge category.

The pounding of the race sets off an inflammatory storm throughout our bodies. 600 metres of surfing and 4.5km of running seems easy at first, but once the race started, it did not seemed as easy as we initially thought it would be. After the competition, we were totally drained of our energy. I felt we could have done better, but the results showed that we came in fifth. 0:02:14 separates us from the winning team.

Hello Volunteers,

Chingay Parade Singapore 2011 is finally over. On the behalf of the organisers and the YPC, Kenneth and I would like to personally thank every single one of you for making our job as leaders a great experience. The long trainings and the two days of parade that you have gone through (not forgetting the motivational talks) were definitely time consuming despite your busy schedule. We also understand that at times it may be boring. We are just glad to say that you all have made it through and you all have been very cooperative. Your attendance for both parades was 100% and this is something your group should be proud of as not many groups achieved it.

Although Chingay Parade Singapore 2011 has come to an end, your volunteering journey has just begun. The experience you gained through this event is invaluable and you may not find it elsewhere. The new friendships forged will certainly go a long way and do continue to keep in touch with each other. Our Facebooks are the emails we used to email you. You can also go and tag yourself in all the photos taken.

We would also like to apologise to any of you if you felt offended by us at any point of time. As leaders, we hope you understand that we were working under pressure as well and sometimes we tell you off without considering your feelings.

Lastly, if you have any feedback that you were too shy to voice out during the debrief other than the food or mud, please email us so that we can make improvements to this event in the future.

God Bless,
Joey Lim

God is the God of the unexpected. Few things could be more unexpected than the King of heaven being born in a stable.

God has wisdom far beyond the doctor you highly respect, the lawyer you greatly honour, and the best experts you can consult.

God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.

God can turn your mess into a message and your tests into testimonies.

Attending church service with my friends has always been a good experience. Being blessed by the word each week keeps us healthy spiritually.

The third day of Chinese New Year seemed better than the first two days. I played tennis with my cousins in the morning before going to visit Fu Wei and Mellissa at their house together with Daryl and Jeremy. We played mahjong there and it has been a really long time since I last played the game. To my surprise, I managed to win the first two games. I think it is beginner’s luck.

Anthony and Valerie’s house was up next. There was nothing much to do at Anthony’s house other than talking. Alberta was there too and she decided to join us for dinner at Ikea after the visit.

It is a norm to stay at home on the second day of Chinese New Year as my family will be expecting visitors throughout the day. If only I could go out with my friends, how nice it would be.

The New Year is a time of expectation and reflection for many of us. A time when we look back at the year gone by, and a time when we look forward to a promising new year filled with fresh hope.

All around, resolutions abound. People resolve to find a life partner, lose weight, save more, and spend more time with their loved ones. We make resolutions eagerly and with the best intentions, sometimes forgetting that it is God we should look to, and not ourselves, to fulfill our deepest desires.

Chinese New Year is here once again and everyone will be wishing each other well. Some of us will be hoping to make a fortune in the financial year, while others might just want to stay happy and healthy. Whatever it is, we should always remember to commit our deepest desires to God and trust Him for it.

It is the time of the year again where my family have our reunion dinner. That means we are having steamboat for dinner again. For reunion dinner every year, we are sure to have steamboat dinner as part of the tradition. The best thing to look forward to is for tomorrow to come as it will be Chinese New Year. I have lots of catching up to do with some my cousins whom I only get to meet a few times a year.
