National Vertical
Marathon 2012
National Vertical Marathon 2012, proudly organised by Nanyang
Technological University Sports Club, brings the flat road marathon to a whole
new level. The physically and mentally challenging nature of this event has
attracted an increasing number of sports enthusiasts to compete in the vertical
race for the past 17 years. National Vertical Marathon 2012 seeks to inject the
elements of competition and fun into the mundane everyday activity of climbing
stairs, thus promoting healthy lifestyles.
National Vertical Marathon 2012 is also set to make history on 03.06.2012
by being the first to ever hold a vertical marathon in Asia Square, The Human
Building. Only this event’s participants will get bragging rights of being the
first to conquer Asia Square. Asia Sqaure is a new, premium, and integrated
commercial development located in the heart of Marina Bay. The Cube, a 100,000
square foot oasis of natural ventilation, is a visual and technological brilliance
that greets participants upon arrival.
Apart from bragging rights and the fierce challenge of balancing
endurance and speed, participants can also look forward to the family-friendly
focus as the event shines the spotlight on family bonding. The inaugural Family
Fun Race aims to bring across the importance of family bonding. The parallels
drawn to the real world are stark as toils and hardship mould families for the
better.
